Note:
- If the voltage between the test terminals H and E is higher than 30 V the earth measurement
will not be performed.
- If the value for the auxiliary earth electrode or the probe resistance is too high (100*RE or >
50kΩ),therespectivewarningsymbolwillbedisplayedinthemessageeld.Themeasure-
ment results may be affected!
- If a noise voltage higher than approx. 5 V is present between the H and E or S test terminals, a
warning symbol “ ” willbedisplayedinthemessageeld.Themeasurementresultsmaybe
affected!
5.10 TRUE RMS current (A~) (BENNING IT 120 B only)
This function enables measuring of AC currents in a wide range from 0.5 mA to 20 A. Load cur-
rents can be measured quickly and reliably. The TRUE RMS functions guarantees a correct test
result even for non-sinusoidal signals. The current clamp adapter BENNING CC 2 can be used for
measuring load currents between 0.5 A and 20 A.
How to perform TRUE RMS current measurement:
Step 1 Select A~ TRUE RMS (current) function with the function selector switch. The following
menu is displayed:

Connect the current clamp to the BENNING IT 120 B.
