4. Equipment Characteristics / Tests
The BENNING 750 A Appliance Tester can be used for the following tests:
Type of measurement in compliance with
Measurement of the protective conductor resistance with 0.2 A DC
(continuously) or with 10 A AC (temporarily for 5 sec). The measurement
is made between the protective conductor and all accessible conduc-
tive parts connected to the protective conductor (with automatic polarity
reversal in automatic mode!).

Measurement of the insulating resistance L/N to PE with 500 V DC
(voltage is adjustable!); also insulating resistance between primary and
secondary side or active parts of devices with SELV / PELV voltages
as well as medical electrical devices with patient connections of ap-
plied parts.

Measurement of the protective conductor current, (leakage cur-
rents), measurement of the protective conductor current and leakage
current for devices of protection classes I to II with accessible con-
ductive parts which are not connected to the protective conductor; by
means of the differential current, direct current or alternative leakage
current measurement method or with an external current measuring
clamp (with automatic polarity reversal in automatic mode!)

su rement of the protective conductor current and leakage current for

which are not connected to the protective conductor; device leakage

of type B, BF and CF; by means of the direct current measurement or al-
ternative leakage current measurement method or with external current
measuring clamp (with automatic polarity reversal in automatic mode!)

medical electrical devices of applied parts of type B, BF and CF; by
means of the direct current measurement and alternative leakage cur-
rent measurement method.

current (differential current measurement), fault current, effective power
and apparent power.

Cable test, continuity test, measurement of the line resistance of
connecting cables, extension cables and cable reels; the insulating re-
sistance between L/N to PE must be measured separately!

Safety extra-low voltage Ua (PELV and SELV); proof of compliance
withthespecicationsfortheratedvoltage(25V).Theinsulatingresist-
