Continuous Reverse
Select running stitch #4; sew approximately 3". Using the Free Hand
System (FHS), raise the presser foot and move the fabric to the left
about ¼”.
Select the Continuous Reverse function and continue stitching back
to the beginning of the row. To access Continuous Reverse on the
activa 220/230PE/240, “double-click” on the Quick Reverse button.
On the artista 640 and 730, use the Automatic Thread Cutter to clip
the threads.
Reposition the fabric approximately 1" below the previous stitching.
Touch the Continuous Reverse function again to deactivate it. Select
stitch #1; sew about 3-4" more; stop.
Engage the Continuous Reverse function again. Sew. Notice that the
reverse stitches are the same length as the forward ones and that the
machine tracks perfectly.
Clip threads. Touch external CLR button to turn off the function.

Press and hold the Needle Stop
Up/Down button to lower the
needle into the fabric. Press
and hold the button again to
raise the needle to its highest
position.
Continue sewing; stop again.
Notice that the machine stops
instantly, without
coasting.

Up/Down function so needle will
stop DOWN in the fabric. Sew
part of the row; stop. Using the
heel of your foot,
tap base of foot control once to
raise the needle.
Continue sewing; stop again.
Notice that the machine stops

When stitching is complete,
touch the Needle Stop Adjust-
ment symbol to engage the
Needle Stop UP feature.
