Trigger-Start Torches

Models: TS4000, TS7000, TS8000, BZ4500HS

This torch is used with a ﬂammable product. Failure to

comply with these Warnings and Instructions may result

in an explosion or ﬁre that may cause property damage,

serious personal injury or death.

Read and comply with the instructions and warnings in this

manual and familiarize yourself with the torch before lighting

and using. Review instructions and warnings periodically to

maintain awareness. Do not try to operate before reading

instructions.

Torches are to be used only with hand held gas cylinders

speciﬁcally designated for use with torches.

 WARNING

• Keep torch out of reach of children and anyone who has not read instructions. Do not point torch towards face, other

persons or ﬂammable objects. Never attempt to use torch as a cigarette lighter.

• Disconnect cylinder when not in use.

• Never attempt to modify the torch construction and never use unapproved accessories or fuels.

• Treat the torch as you would any ﬁne tool or instrument. Do not drop, throw, or otherwise abuse.

• Do not use a leaking, damaged or malfunctioning torch.

• Always wear safety glasses, protective gloves and use proper tools to handle hot work.

• Radiant energy can harm your eyes. Wear glasses having an appropriate lens shade number (see 29 CFR 1926.102)

for the torch operation being done; brazing and light cutting (3 or 4), medium cutting and light welding (4 or 5), heavy

cutting and medium/heavy welding (5-8).

• Work only in well-ventilated areas. Avoid the fumes from ﬂuxes, lead-based paint, and all metal heating operations. Be

careful to avoid fumes from cadmium plating and galvanized metal- remove these coatings in the area to be heated by

ﬁling or sanding prior to heating.

Materials used in the construction of this device may contain brass (which may contain lead), a chemical known to the

State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm.

Combustion by-products produced when using this device contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause

cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

• N ever use torch to strip lead paint. • B e careful when using the torch outdoors on sunny or windy days. Bright light makes it difficult to see the torch’s flame. Wind may carry the torch’s heat back towards you or other areas not intended to be heated. Windy conditions may also cause sparks to be blown into other areas with combustible materials. • H eating a surface may cause heat to be conducted to adjoining surfaces that may be combustible or become pressurized when heated.

LIGHTING AND OPERATION  CAUTION Tipping the gas cylinder more than 60 degrees from its upright position may cause torch to flare. The torch has a builtin regulator that controls pressure and reduces the risk of pulsating or yellow flames when used other than upright. It is recommended to start working with a disposable hand torch cylinder at room temperature and to keep torch upright as much as possible. 1.

STORAGE REMOVE CYLINDER FROM TORCH WHEN NOT IN USE 1. Turn ignition button to the LOCKED position. Make sure regulator valve is closed by turning flame adjustment knob fully clockwise until it stops. (Except TS4000/BZ4500HS.) Do not force. 2. When torch is cool, disconnect cylinder and store torch and cylinder separately and out of reach of children. Observe cautions on cylinder label. 3. Do not expose cylinders to temperatures in excess of 120ºF. 4. Store cylinders in well ventilated areas.

• L ’énergie rayonnante peut blesser la vue. Porter des lunettes avec filtre dont le numéro est approprié (cf. 29 CFR 1926.102) pour le travail effectué au chalumeau : brasage et découpage de matériaux minces (3 ou 4), découpage de matériaux d’épaisseur moyenne et soudage léger (4 ou 5), découpage de matériaux épais et soudage moyen/intensif (5 à 8). • T ravailler uniquement dans des endroits bien ventilés. Éviter les vapeurs de flux, de peinture à base de plomb et de tout métal chauffé.

ASSEMBLAGE 1. Tourner la gâchette (2) à la position VERROU (cadenas fermé). 2. Modèles TS7000 et TS8000 : Fermer le manodétendeur, en tournant à bloc à la main, dans le sens horaire, la molette de réglage de la flamme (1). Il suffit que le bouton se rende en bout de course. Ne pas forcer. (Remarque : Le TS4000/ BZ4500HS ne comporte pas de molette de réglage de flamme.) 3.

APRÈS L’UTILISATION 1. Remettre la gâchette (2) à la position VERROU (cadenas fermé). 2. Fermer le manodétendeur en tournant à bloc à la main la molette de réglage (1) dans le sens horaire. Ne pas forcer. (Sauf TS4000/BZ4500HS.) 3. Enlever la bouteille du chalumeau lorsqu’il n’est pas utilisé. 4. Une fois le chalumeau détaché de la bouteille, pointer le chalumeau dans une direction sécuritaire, puis appuyer sur la gâchette (2) pour évacuer le gaz.

• T rabaje solamente en áreas bien ventiladas. Evite los vapores de los fundentes, la pintura a base de plomo y todas las operaciones de calentamiento de metal. Sea cuidadoso para evitar los vapores del cadmiado y del metal galvanizado. Retire estos recubrimientos del área a calentar, limándolos o lijándolos antes de calentar. • N unca use el soplete para desprender pintura con plomo. • T enga cuidado cuando use el soplete en exteriores, en días soleados o con viento.

ARMADO 1. Gire la perilla de encendido (2) a la posición BLOQUEADA. 2. Para los modelos TS7000 y TS8000, asegúrese de que la válvula de regulación esté cerrada; para esto, gire la perilla de ajuste de la llama (1) en el sentido de las agujas del reloj hasta que se detenga. Un tope suave es suficiente. No lo fuerce. (Nota: El modelo TS4000/BZ4500HS no está equipado con una perilla de ajuste de la llama). 3.

DESPUÉS DE USAR 1. Devuelva el botón de encendido (2) a la posición BLOQUEADA. 2. (Excepto TS4000/BZ4500HS). 3. Quite el cilindro del soplete cuando no lo use. 4. Con el soplete desconectado del cilindro, apunte el soplete en una dirección segura y tire del botón de encendido (2) para liberar el gas en el soplete.

• T rabalhe somente em áreas bem ventiladas. Evite os vapores de metais fundentes, pinturas à base de chumbo e todas as operações de aquecimento de metal. Tenha cuidado para evitar os vapores produzidos durante a eletrodeposição de cádmio e galvanização de metais. Remova esses revestimentos da área a ser aquecida usando lima ou lixa antes de aquecer. • N unca use o maçarico para retirar tinta à base de chumbo. • T enha cuidado ao usar o maçarico ao ar livre em dias ensolarados ou de muito vento.

MONTAGEM 1. Gire o botão de ignição (2) até a posição TRAVADA. 2. Para modelos TS7000 e TS8000, verifique se a válvula reguladora está desligada girando o botão de controle de chama (1) no sentido horário até ele parar. Basta uma parada leve. Não force. (Observação: o TS4000/BZ4500HS não está equipado com um botão de controle de chama.) 3. Segure o maçarico com o bico do queimador (4) apontando para longe de pessoas e material inflamável.

APÓS O USO 1. Retorne o botão de ignição (2) para a posição TRAVADA. 2. Verifique se a válvula reguladora está fechada girando o botão de controle de chama (1) totalmente no sentido horário até ele parar. Não force. (Exceto TS4000/BZ4500HS.) 3. Desconecte o cilindro do maçarico quando não estiver em uso. 4. Após desconectar o maçarico do cilindro, aponte o maçarico para uma direção segura e puxe o botão de ignição (2) para liberar o gás do maçarico.
