Use and Care Manual for Best Barns Shed Kits
Best Barns shed kits provide the Do-it-Yourself homeowner with a quality and easy to assemble stor-
age building. Reynolds Building Systems, Inc. has designed our shed kits to give years of use pro-
vided the kit is properly assembled and regular maintenance is given. This manual outlines important
tips to help build and maintain your new shed kit.
Prior to Assembly
Before assembly please read entire assembly manual. The “Important
Information About Your Shed Kit” provides valuable information about
the entire assembly process. If you have any questions during
construction please contact customer service at (800) 245-1577 or
(724) 866-HELP (4357) if calling after business hours.
Tools Required

Hammer
Hand Saw
Circular Saw
Framing Square
Level
Plum Line
Power Drill / Screwdriver
Measuring Tape
1 - 8’ Step Ladders
Foundation Requirements
Your new shed kit must be placed on a foundation that matches the
correct size of the shed kit. See “Construction Details for Deluxe Floor
System” in assembly manual. If placing on a concrete slab a sill sealer
must be placed between bottom wall plate and the surface of the
concrete as a moisture barrier.
Safety
Always wear safety glasses when cutting or nailing. Assembled walls
and gable ends are heavy. It is recommended that you have additional
help when erecting these components.
Venting
Best Barns shed kits are designed to allow for ridge venting (purchased
locally) to be installed. Venting allows for excess heat and moisture to
escape.

Siding
SmartSide
TM
siding is manufucatured by Louisianna Pacifi c and infused
with an anti-fungal and anti-termite compound. Two (2) coats of 100%
acrylic paint or solid stain should be applied to face and exposed edges
of siding.
Trim and Door Trim
All trim and door trim is unfi nished wood and should be primed and
have two (2) coats of 100% acrylic paint or solid stain along all ex-
posed surface areas. Caulk above all doors, horizontal and vertical
trim.
