2. Attach upper mount to mounting structure
Angle irons should be aligned with the outermost holes of the upper mount.
Do not use beam clips on angle irons.
Spacers are used only on I-beams when the beam flange exceeds 3/8” (10 mm).
Make sure the spacers are oriented as shown.
Secure the upper mount to the angle irons or I-beam with the Mounting Structure Hardware. Tighten the bolts to
40ft·lb (54.2 N·m) using a torque wrench and 3/4” (19 mm) socket. After securing the upper mount to the angle
irons, tighten all the bolts securing the angle irons to the roof structure to 40 ft·lb (54.2 N·m) using a torque
wrench and 3/4” (19 mm) socket.
Mounting Structure Hardware:
a. (4) 1/2-13 x 2” GR 8 Bolt
b. (8) 1/2’’ Flat Washer
c. (4) 1/2-13 Nylock Nut
d. (2) Beam Clip (I-beam only)
e. (2) Spacer (I-beam only if beam
flange exceeds 3/8” [10 mm])
