7b. Install main fan unit (direct mount)
The lower safety cables are a crucial part of the fan and must be installed correctly. If you have
any questions, contact Customer Service for assistance.
Attach the main fan unit directly to the angle irons with the Motor Unit Hardware. Do not rest the main fan unit
on the ground. Tighten the bolts to 40 ft·lb (54.2 N·m) using a torque wrench and 3/4” (19 mm) socket. After
securing the main fan unit to the angle irons, tighten all the bolts securing the angle irons to the roof structure to
40 ft·lb (54.2 N·m) using a torque wrench and 3/4” (19 mm) socket.
Motor Unit Hardware:
a. (4) 1/2-13 x 1-3/4” GR 8 Bolt
b. (8) 1/2’’ Flat Washer
c. (4) 1/2-13 Nylock Nut

Drill a Ø9/16” (14 mm) hole in the center of each angle iron exactly
10” (254 mm) from the fan mounting holes as shown. Secure the
two lower safety cables (pre-attached to main fan unit) to the holes
with installer-supplied Grade 8 hardware. Tighten the bolts to
40ft·lb (54.2N·m) using a torque wrench and 3/4” (19 mm) socket.
Safety Cable Hardware (Installer-Supplied):
a. (2) 1/2-13 x 1-1/2” GR 8 Bolt
b. (4) 1/2” Flat Washer
c. (2) 1/2-13 Nylock Nut
