8. Mount VFD to wall
A. Select mounting location
Adhere to the following guidelines when selecting the VFD location:
Mount the VFD to a flat, readily accessible surface that is free from vibration and away from foreign objects
and moving equipment.
Do not mount the VFD adjacent to or above a heat source or heat-producing equipment.
The ambient temperature must be between 14–122°F (-10–50°C) with a relative humidity range of 0–95%
(non-condensing).
Do not expose the VFD to a corrosive atmosphere or direct sunlight.
The fan should be visible from the VFD.
Maintain a minimum distance of 6” (152 mm) between VFDs.
B. Mount VFD
Mount the VFD to the wall using a #8–#10 screw. Refer to the diagram below for mounting hole dimensions.
9. Wire and test fan
WARNING: Disconnect power to the installation location before wiring the fan!
The VFD includes a 10-ft (3-m) pre-attached AC supply cord. Make sure power wiring is routed to an outlet at
the VFD location. The fan includes a 50-ft (15.2-m) pre-attached motor cord. Wire the motor cord to the VFD
according to the appropriate diagram in the VFD Wiring Diagrams section. If you need to extend the VFD
output/motor input leads, use stranded wire. Apply power and test the fan.
