SUPPLY POWER GUIDELINES
Before beginning fan installation, route power wiring to the VFD installation site. Refer to the minimum supply
circuit requirements for your fan size below.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT
A suitable means for lifting the weight of the fan, such as a scissor lift, at least two personnel, and the following
tools will be needed. Depending on your application, additional tools may be required.
☐ Standard wrench set
☐ Standard socket set and ratchet
☐ Torque wrench capable of 40 ft·lb (54.2 N·m)
with 3/4” (19 mm) and 1/2” (13 mm) sockets
☐ Phillips and flat head screwdrivers
☐ Standard allen wrench set
☐ 1/4” (6 mm) nut driver
☐ 5/16” (8 mm) nut driver
☐ #10 to #14 AWG strippers
☐ Medium channel locks
☐ Multimeter
☐ Level

14 ft (4.3 m) 20 A @ 100–125 V, 1 Φ
1. All VFDs produce three-phase output power regardless of input phase.
Power wiring guidelines
Dedicated Branch Circuit Protection. Each fan requires dedicated branch circuit protection.
Conduit. VFD output/motor input leads cannot share a conduit with any other controller’s AC supply feed.
Local Disconnect. If required, a local disconnect should be installed per all national and local codes.
Manual Disconnect. To satisfy some local code requirements, it may be necessary to install a manual
disconnect at the fan motor location when the fan is not within line-of-sight of the controller.
Lead Extension. If you need to extend the VFD output/motor input leads, use stranded wire.
