Taking the car kit into use for the first time
Before using the car kit, the cell phone must have the information of the car kit. To create
the information, pairing procedure is used. Once the car kit and phone are paired, an
incoming call will be transferred to the car kit or using car kit to activate voice dial or last
number redial functions. Please follow the instructions below for initial pairing.
1. Plug the car kit into the car cigarette jack and switch on the car kit.
2. Press and hold the “Pairing” button of the car kit for approximately 3 seconds until the
indicator LED of “Connected” is blinking. A pairing sound also be played. This indicates
that the car kit is in pairing mode and waiting to be paired with another Bluetooth
device.
3. Set the cell phone to search for Bluetooth devices. The phone searches for surrounding
bluetooth devices within about 10 meters and shows them as a list.
4. Select the car kit named “BT CarKit” form the list and enter ”1234” for the pin code.
Once pairing successes both cell phone and car kit save each other’s record and the
car kit exits pairing mode.
5. Now the car kit is ready to use.
Caution: If a second user tries to pair the phone, the first pairing information will
automatically be erased and replaced by the new (second) information
since the car kit only stores the newest record.
Answering and ending/rejecting a call
When receiving a call, press the “Talk” button to answer the incoming call or press the
End ” button to end/reject the call.
Muting and unmuting a call
The mute function is to mute the local microphones so the other party cannot hear any
sound. To mute the microphone during an active call, press the “Pairing” button to start
muting. During muting, the mute LED is blinking.
Adjusting the volume of the car kit speaker
Turn the “Volume” button clockwise to increase or counterclockwise to decrease the
volume of speaker. Please note that there is no function for adjusting the volume of the
microphone.
Transferring the incoming call between car kit and phone
During an active call, the “Talk” button can be pressed to transfer the call back to the cell
phone. It depends on the function of the cell phone; it may not be able to transfer the call
back to car kit again.
