1. Read all instructions before using the appliance.
2. To avoid fire or shock hazard, plug the appliance
directly into a 120V AC electrical outlet.
3. Keep the cord out of heavy traffic areas. To avoid fire hazard,
NEVER put the cord under rugs or near heat registers.
4
. DO NOT place dehumidifier near heat sources such as
s
toves, radiators, and heaters. Locate your dehumidifier
o
n an inside wall near an electrical outlet. The
d
ehumidifier should be at least 4” away from the wall
f

d
ehumidifier draws moisture laden air
through the intake grills on the appliance. Humid air passes
through refrigerated coils where the moisture is removed and
collected in the water reservoir. This model is specially designed
to be ultra quiet and can be used in any room in the house.
NOTE: When the dehumidifier is plugged in the display will
r
ead the current room humidity level. The unit will remain in
standby mode until an operating mode is selected.
PRE-OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Select a location for your dehumidifier, on a flat/level
surface, about 4” away from the wall.
2
. If you choose to use an active carbon odor filter, pull
out the filter tray from the back of the dehumidifier.
Unpack the carbon odor filter, fit it into the frame and
replace the tray into the appliance.
3
. Plug the power cord into a 120V AC electrical outlet.
NOTE: The display will indicate the current room
humidity level when plugged in.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Your QuieTech
dehumidifier is equipped with SmartTouch
TM
electronic humidity sensor which allows you to set and
maintain your desired humidity level by pressing one button.
Scroll through the presets of the electronic humidistat until
y
ou reach your desired comfort or power setting. The ideal
humidity for a comfortable room is between 40% and
60%. The dehumidifier will beep when scrolling through or
changing modes. This is normal.
1. Push the Mode button (mode / ) once to operate the
dehumidifier on the economy setting. This is the lowest
energy-use setting on the dehumidifier. The appliance
will turn on automatically when the humidity level is
above 65% and run until the humidity is reduced to
64%. NOTE: The dehumidifier uses electronic circuitry
designed to protect the compressor from damage
during start-up. This delays the start of the compressor
until the appliance has been running several minutes.
This delayed start is normal.
2. Push the button again to operate the dehumidifier on
the continuous mode. In this setting the appliance will
not turn off until the water reservoir needs to be
emptied or until the appliance is turned off.
3
. Push the button once more for a preset humidity
s
etting of 45% - 55%. The appliance will monitor the
r
oom humidity and automatically turn on and off to
a
chieve and maintain this desired setting.
4. Push the button again for a preset humidity setting of
55% - 65%. Again, the dehumidifier will automatically
sense the humidity and turn on and off to maintain your
desired comfort level.
5. The final push of the Mode button (mode / ) will turn
the compressor and fan off. The display and the back-
light will remain illuminated to show current room
humidity level. The compressor will turn off but the
dehumidifier fan will continue to run for a few seconds
to cool the unit down prior to turning off.
USING THE PORTABLE STATUS INDICATOR
Your Dehumidifier is equipped with a Portable Status
Indicator. This will allow you to place the indicator at a
convenient location within the home, up to 30 feet from the
D
ehumidifier, to determine the operating status of the
Dehumidifier as well as whether or not the Reservoir tank is
full and needs to be emptied. Your Portable Status
Indicator requires 4 "AAA" batteries (included).
Your dehumidifier also comes with a LED display panel.
This panel will assist you during operation with LED
indicators that illuminate to indicate the mode that the unit

at the same time for 3 seconds. Doing so will
synchronize the unit.
3. Release both buttons after 3 seconds.
Your Portable Status Indicator is now functional.
The Portable Status Indicator will display the humidity of
the room where the Dehumidifier is located. (Refer to letter
C in Figure 2)
It will also display the desired room humidity setting that
you initially programmed for the Dehumidifier.
An audible alarm will sound for a few seconds when the
Reservoir Tank is full and needs to be emptied. The “Tank
Full” icon ( ) on the Portable Status Indicator will flash
at this time until the reservoir is emptied. (Refer to letter E
i
n Figure 2)
The “Low Battery” icon ( ) on the Portable Status Icon

JCS, at its option, will repair or replace this product or any compo-
nent of the product found to be defective during the warranty period.
Replacement will be made with a new or remanufactured product or
component. If the product is no longer available, replacement may
be made with a similar product of equal or greater value. This is your
exclusive warranty. DO NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or
mechanical functions on this product. Doing so will void this warranty.
This warranty is valid for the original retail purchaser from the date of
initial retail purchase and is not transferable. Keep the original sales
receipt. Proof of purchase is required to obtain warranty performance.
JCS dealers, service centers, or retail stores selling JCS products do
not have the right to alter, modify or any way change the terms and
conditions of this warranty.
This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage
resulting from any of the following: negligent use or misuse of the
product, use on improper voltage or current, use contrary to the
operating instructions, disassembly, repair or alteration by anyone
other than JCS or an authorized JCS service center. Further, the
warranty does not cover: Acts of God, such as fire, flood,
hurricanes and tornadoes.
What are the limits on JCSs Liability?
JCS shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages
caused by the breach of any express, implied or statutory warranty

Step 2: Cut the hose to expose a
bare piece of rubber with no
faucet connector attached.
Step 3: Insert the hose around the
bypass port located within this
open area. Be sure the hose is
completely inserted around this
bypass port by inserting it as far as
it can be attached. (See Figure 5)
Step 4: Direct the opposite end of the hose to a sump
pump or outside of your home far enough away from the
foundation to ensure proper drainage. The unit will now
direct water from the bypass port, rather than into the
water reservoir. (See Figure 5)
NOTE: The drain hose must be below the drain plug
in order for the unit to drain properly.
NOTE: To help prevent leakage, you should use a
marker to denote the location where the hose
meets the housing on the rear of the unit.
Periodically check to make sure this indicator has
not moved away from the housing to ensure that
your hose will not leak. Leakage inside the unit will fall
into the water reservoir. If this happens you can empty
the water reservoir by following the instructions above in
the “Emptying the Water Reservoir” section.
