Helpful Hints When Using ShotBlocker®
• Explain how the ShotBlocker will use the
distraction technique to hide the pain.
• Calm patients by letting them feel the
device and demonstrate how it works.
• Have the patient look away while you
perform the injection.
• Press the ShotBlocker firmly onto the
patient making sure the contact points
touch the skin. (This creates the necessary
sensation for ShotBlocker to be effective)
• Best results are achieved when
performed on children ages 4 and up.
• ShotBlocker significantly reduces the
pain and discomfort associated with
routine injections 80% of the time.
