The table on page 23 provides an overview of all functions with values and factory settings.
Notes
– remote control unit: see chapter 20ff for Reglobeam functions.
– Ensure that programming is completed within 40 seconds, otherwise you will have to restart the process.
The green LED lights up when the motion detector has detected movement.
The following functions are only available for the Jupiter and the Jupiter SE. Please refer to page 29, “Presence detector settings” for
information about configuring the presence detector or the Jupiter Presence.

This function enables the signal at the output of the motion
detector to be inverted. In Jupiter SE, level 1 (active swit-
ching) is not possible for safety reasons. If level 1 is pro-
grammed in Jupiter SE, then the output remains passive
switching nonetheless.
Level 3 of this function enables the motion detector and its
signals at the output to be completely deactivated as well.
After this function has been adjusted (switched ON or
OFF), it is necessary to de-energise the sensor briefly and
restart it.
Level 3 does not permit opening of the door system in ac-
cordance with the standard and therefore does not corre-
spond to AutSchR (directive governing automatic sliding
doors in escape and rescue routes).
Please refer to the safety instructions on page 22 and
chapter 19.2 which contain information about the LED dis-
plays in this regard.
Motion detector settings
After the power supply is connected, the unit is switched on and
the initialisation phase commences whereby the sensor teach-
es-in its environmental conditions. At this point the sensor un-
dertakes teach-in of the background information. The red LED
emits a certain flashing pattern during this teach-in phase (you
do not have to pay any attention to the green LED at this point):
First there is slow blinking which lasts for approx. 8 seconds,
followed by rapid blinking for about 4 seconds. After this process
is complete the unit is ready for operation.
Note
Before switching on the unit, remove all objects from
the door area that do not form part of the usual sur-
roundings of the door. Also, make sure that nobody is
in the area of the door during the teach-in phase.
The following functions offer useful settings for simplified start-up of the sensor and the door system:
Manual teach-in of the background (presence detector chapter 10.4)
Teach-in time (presence detector chapter 10.5)
Deactivate presence detector temporarily (presence detector chapter 10.9)
Manual detection (general functions chapter 14)
The following representation shows the connection principle of two Jupiter units (inside and outside) to a door control system.
A Jupiter SE must be used in the direction of escape for automatic doors located on escape routes. Connection leads which are not
used must be properly isolated. See also the pin assignments as per section 2.1.
