10.7
Width of the detection area
It may be necessary to restrict the area using this function, for example if moving external objects trigger unwanted detections in the
area of the presence detector or if only point protection is required using the presence detector.
Static objects in the detection area are automatically taught in and do not impair the function of the sensor.
– Do not touch lenses with fingers
Do not press down the adhesive strips firmly until the set field has
been tested and found to be good
– Adhesive strips can be removed easily for up to about 10 minutes
after they have been applied
To complete, teach-in the background again + (Section 10.4)
There are three different sizes of adhesive strip:
S = small (20 x 10 mm) (0.79" x 0.39")
M = medium (20 x 14 mm) (0.79" x 0.55")
L = large (20 x 18 mm) (0.79" x 0.71")

Irrespective of the selected setting, always check whether the area settings meet the requirements of the applied and
applicable standards (see chapter 1ff. and chapter 13ff.).
Important:
When this function is used, it is mandatory for the corre-
sponding segments on the receiver and/or transmitter
lens to be covered using the supplied adhesive strips.
Proceed as follows in this case:
Step 1: Program the required level with the remote
control
Step 2: Mask out the lens segments in accordance with
the table below

The two reduced levels 3 and 4 are specifically suited
to continuously changing ambient conditions e.g.
leaves, water, snow, etc.
Irrespective of the selected level, always check
whether the area settings meet the requirements of
the applied and applicable standards (see chapter 1ff.
and chapter 16ff.).
Please refer to chapter 1.4 and chapter 22.2 which contain in-
formation about the LED displays in this regard.
Level 1 has the highest detection sensitivity, level 4 the lowest.
Levels 1 and 2 are in accordance with prEN 12650 /
DIN 18650. Levels 3 and 4 are not in accordance with
prEN 12650 / DIN 18650.

Activate presence detector
(automatic mode)
12A
In most cases, it is necessary for the sensors to be connected
and functioning in order for start-up and configuration work to
be performed. However, the door start-up procedure can be
impaired by the active presence detector if work on the door or
so-called foreign objects constantly result in unwanted detec-
tions.
This function deactivates the output signal of the presence
detector for maximum 15 min. Following this, the function is
reset and the presence detector is reactivated for automatic
mode.
The presence detector can be reactivated at any time with A+2.
The “Manual detection” function is reset at the same time (see
chapter 14).
