● Check and fix the issues reported by BitDefender Antivirus for Mac regularly.

For detailed information, refer to Fixing Issues (p. 21).

No other configuration or action is required. However, if you want to, you can

adjust the application settings and preferences to better suit your needs. For more

information, refer to Configuring Preferences (p. 44).

2.4. Opening BitDefender Antivirus for Mac

You can open BitDefender Antivirus for Mac to check the system security status,

take preventive measures to protect against malware or set up the application.

You have several ways to open BitDefender Antivirus for Mac.

● Click the BitDefender icon in the Dock.

● Open a Finder window, go to Applications and double-click the BitDefender

alias (or right-click it and choose Open).

Alternatively, you can use Spotlight to find and open the application.

● Open a Finder window, go to Macintosh HD → Library → BitDefender → AVP

and double-click BitDefender (or right-click it and choose Open).

Note

The application alias in Applications and the application icon in the Dock are

removable. If you do not find them, use the third method to open the application.

2.5. Application Main Window

In the application's main window you can check your computer's security status,

fix security issues, start scans and configure security settings.
