2. Choose option 1, Interface status. The Interface Status screen appears, displaying one of the following states

for each T1 or E1 and fiber optic interface in the local and remote muxes (see Figure 5-5):

• Data signal The input signal is detected on the respective line.

• Signal loss A loss of input signal on the respective line.

• AIS An Alarm Indication Signal (“all ones”) is detected on the respective line.

NOTE

On E1 versions, T1 or T2 entries are replaced by E1 or E2, and status monitoring for

the T2 backup (or E2 backup on E2 versions) is only available if you add the optional

dual fiber link board to the mux.

3. Select 0, Exit, to return to the Status screen.

UNCTIONAL BLOCKS STATUS

To monitor the status of the mux’s functional blocks (see Table 5-1):

1. In the Status screen, choose option 2, Internal status. The Internal Status screen appears, displaying one of

the following states for each functional block in both the local and remote muxes (see Figure 5-6).

2. Select 0, Exit, to return to the Status screen.

Not valid Block failure or incorrect channel frequency.

Demultiplexor Valid Block is functioning properly.

Not valid Block failure or loss of T1 or E1 frame.

Not valid No output voltages are supplied.

Not present Power supply is not installed.
