Figure 5-10. Change Remote Interface Configuration screen.
NOTE
On E1 versions, the screen’s T1 entries are replaced by E1. And although the screen
offers the selection of a fiber optic backup link, this option is available only if the
optional dual fiber link board is installed.
CAUTION
Setting the fiber optic link local loopback in the remote unit disconnects the link and,
as such, is irreversible. To remove this loopback, connect a terminal to the remote unit
or shut down the power to the remote unit.
3. Select a digit between 1 and 4 to set/reset a local loopback in one of the T1 or E1 interfaces. Select 5 or 6 to
set/reset a local loopback for the fiber optic main or backup link (if the optional dual fiber link board is
installed).
See Chapter 6 for definitions of local T1 or E1 and fiber optic link local loopbacks in the remote mux. The
fiber optic link local loopback applies to the active link only.
4. Choose 2, Configuration, and type 1 to set a loopback. Type 0 to reset a loopback.
5. Choose 0, Exit, to exit to the Configuration screen.
