To select the fiber optic link redundancy mode on muxes with the optional dual fiber link board installed:
1. In the Configuration screen, choose option 4, Special configuration actions. The Special Actions menu
screen appears (see Figure 5-11).

2. Choose 1, Select fiber optic link, and select one of the following options:
Number Option To
0* Normal Enable fiber link redundancy in case main link fails.
1 Main Force the main link as the active link.
2* Backup Force the backup link as the active link.
* The Normal and Backup options are only available on muxes that have the optional dual fiber link board
installed.

ETTING/RESETTING THE T1 OR E1 REMOTE LOOPBACK
1. In the Configuration screen, choose option 4, Special configuration actions. The Special Actions menu
appears (see Figure 5-11).
2. Choose 2, Remote loop configuration, and type 1 to set the loopback or type 0 to reset the loopback. See
Chapter 6 for the definitions of the T1 or E1 remote loopback.
3. Choose 0, Exit, to return to the Configuration screen.

ESETTING TO THE DEFAULT CONFIGURATION
1. In the Configuration screen, choose option 5, Reset to default configuration. The Reset to Default
Configuration screen appears (see Figure 5-12).
NOTE
Resetting to the default configuration restores the system to its normal transmission
path (no loops) and to the Normal redundancy mode, as defined in Section 5.3.4.
