Overview
Create, distribute, and manage content easily with
iCOMPEL™ digital signage network appliances from
Black Box. Ideal for both large and small
organizations, iCOMPEL appliances work right
out of the box with all software preinstalled,
so distributing content to signage can be done
quickly and affordably.
Support many media formats.
Because iCOMPEL supports many media formats,
you can combine video with scrolling text, photos,
Flash, JavaScript, and Web content.
In addition to HTML and RSS media, they handle
Real, MPEG, AVI, QuickTime
®
, and PowerPoint
®
media; JPEG, GIF, PNG, and TIFF images; plus WAV
and MP3 audio.
You can also order iCOMPEL with a built-in video
capture card for applications where you
need to display both stored video and live video.
To upload media, drag and drop from a PC or Mac
®
desktop or folder to folders on the appliance’s
internal hard disk or use the iCOMPEL user interface
to browse for and upload the media files.
Simple, browser-based management.
Install the appliances on a network and manage
them through a browser from any WAN computer.
One iCOMPEL unit used as a publisher can send
media via a network to an iCOMPEL unit used as
a subscriber — even on the other side of the world.
The iCOMPEL software comes with a number
of layouts, or you can design your own. Intuitive
tools make it easy to modify layouts. Adjust, resize,
position, and layer zones with a simple click and
drag! Screen layouts can contain a mix of media
zones. Set up one or more layouts containing one
or more rectangular zones. You can even import
custom fonts and stream in Internet RSS feeds.
Plus, every zone in an iCOMPEL display layout has
its own playlist to which you can add multiple
stored media files. Zones can also run on their own
schedule with different layouts playing at different
times of the day.
