9. Troubleshooting
9.1 Performing Software/Firmware Updates
The latest versions of the Ethernet to Twinax/Coax Print Server’s bootcode and
operating firmware (there are two firmware files), as well as the latest version of the
print-control utility, are posted on www. blackbox.com.
1. Run your Internet browser and go to www.blackbox.com.
2. The new software/firmware is available as the following files:

F5450xxx.exe Operating firmware for the print server’s Ethernet
drivers
FirmZxxx.exe Operating firmware for the print server’s twinax/coax
drivers
B5450xxx.exe Bootcode for the print server
PCUxxx.exe Print-control utility
3. Follow the instructions in the readme.txt file located in the print server’s
directory to download the files you need from the FTP site and install them
on your PC (the print-control file) or on the print server (the bootcode and
firmware files).
9.2 The Print Server’s Self-Test
The Ethernet to Twinax/Coax Print Server can be configured to automatically
generate a one-page self-test printout on the attached twinax or 3270-coax printer
every time it is powered up or reset, as described in the rest of this section.

Select whether a twinax or 3270-coax attached printer will print the self-test by
doing the following steps:
1. If you haven’t already done so, start the print-control utility.
2. Double-click on the target print server from the displayed list.
