ATTACHING THE AUXILIARY HANDLE • To attach the handle, press in on the buttons (f) on both sides of the upper housing as shown in figure 3. • Push the handle completely onto the housing and position it slightly until it "snaps" into place (figure 5). • To adjust the handle up or down, press in on the button (g) and raise or lower the handle. • The handle should be adjusted so that your front arm is straight when the trimmer is in the working position.
ATTACHING EXTENSION CORD • An extension cord retainer (figure 7) is built into the switch handle that prevents the cord from coming unplugged. To use this feature, simply double the extension cord about 8 inches (203mm) from the end, and insert it into the slot (i) in the end of the handle area. Hook the loop formed by doubling the cord over the tab (j). Gently tug on the cord to insure that it is firmly retained in the trimmer's handle.

Rotate thespoolslightly untilit isseated. Thelineshould protrude approximately 5-3/8inches (136mm) fromthehousing. •Alignthetabsonthespool capwiththeslots(t)inthe housing (figure 13).

HERRAMIENTAS QUE SE REQUIEREN QUE NO ESTAN PROVISTAS: - Destornillador Phillips INSTALACI(_N DEL PROTECTOR PARA EL ENSAMBLAJE • Inserte el destornillador del protector, como se muestra en la figura 2 para completar et ensamblaje det protector. • Una vez instalado et protector, retire la cubierta de la hoja de corte de la cuerda ubicada en et extremo det protector.
COLOCAClON • Presione comptetamente et mango sobre ta cubierta y muevalo ligeramente hasta que Io oiga encajar en su lugar (figura 5). • Para ajustar el mango hacia arriba o hacia abajo, presione et boton (g) y eteve o baje el mango. • Et mango se debe ajustar de manera que el braze delantero este recto cuando la podadora este en posicion de trabajo.
ENCENDIDOYAPAGADO • Si Io desea, saque la guia del borde det cable (m) de la cubierta del motor hasta que emita un chasquido y se ajuste en la posicion de bloqueo como se muestra en la figura 10 y cotoque la podadora encima de la superficie como se muestra en ta figura 10. • Para volver a la posicion de podar, afioje et anilto de bloqueo y nuevamente gire de regreso la cubierta inferior 180°. La herramienta se btoquear& en la posicion de podadora.
• Si la patanca (q) (figura 12) de la base de la cubierta se desprende, vuelvala a poner en la posicion correcta antes de insertar el nuevo carrete en la cubierta. • Etimine cuatquier resto de suciedad o cesped en et carrete y la cubierta. • Suette et extremo de la cuerda de corte e introduzca la cuerda dentro de uno de los orificios (r) figura 13. • Tome el carrete nuevo y empOjeto sobre ta parte satiente (s) (figura 12)de la cubierta. Gire el carrete ligeramente hasta que este bien colocado.
• Enrolle la cuerda de corte dentro del carrete en la direccion de ta flecha en et carrete. AsegQrese de enrollar la cuerda protijamente y en capas. No la entrecruce (figura 16). • Cuando la cuerda de corte enroltada Ilegue alas ranuras (x), corte la cuerda. (figura 15). • Coloque et carrete en la herramienta como se describe en et "REEMPLAZO DEL CARRETE".
