Intended use Your Black & Decker PowerfileTM sander has been designed for sanding wood, metal, plastics and painted surfaces. This tool is intended for consumer use only. The following symbols are marked on your appliance: Fit the dust cassette before using the tool on wooden workpieces. Remove the dust cassette and fit the deflector before using the tool on workpieces containing metal.
Removing To remove the dust cassette (13), pull the item (13) to the rear and off the outlet. Fitting and removing the deflector (fig. D and E) Warning! The deflector must be used when sanding metal workpieces. Fitting Fit the deflector (14) over the dust extraction outlet. Slide the deflector (14) on to the tool and make sure that it is securely located. Removing To remove the deflector (14), pull the deflector to the rear and off the outlet.
When sanding new layers of paint before applying another layer, use extra fine grit. On very uneven surfaces, or when removing layers of paint, start with a coarse grit. On other surfaces, start with a medium grit. In both cases, gradually change to a fine grit for a smooth finish. Consult your retailer for more information on available accessories. Maintenance Your Black & Decker tool has been designed to operate over a long period of time with a minimum of maintenance.
