Image of GSM roaming icon Image of CDMA roaming icon Your device is roaming. Extra charges might apply.
Image of BlackBerry icon You are connected to the BlackBerry Infrastructure.
Image of Wi-Fi signal strength icon The number of solid waves indicates the strength of the Wi-
Fi signal. If the signal is weak, your device might use more
power to try to maintain the connection.
Image of VPN connection icon Your device is connected to a VPN.
Image of airplane mode icon Your device is in airplane mode and all of your wireless
network connections are off. You can turn on Wi-Fi or
Bluetooth technology, but not your connection to the
mobile network.
Image of SIM card error icon There is an error with your SIM card. For information on
what the error is, on the home screen, swipe down from the
top of the screen. Tap The settings icon Settings >
Networks and Connections > Mobile Network.
Image of emergency calls only icon You can only make emergency calls.
The following icons appear in the upper-left corner of the home screen if your device is connected or trying to connect to
another device using Mobile Hotspot mode, Internet tethering, Bluetooth technology, or NFC.
The NFC feature might not be available, depending on your wireless service provider, your administrator's settings, and
your BlackBerry device model.

Mobile Hotspot mode is on. If the icon is solid, Mobile
Hotspot is connected.
Image of Internet tethering icon Internet tethering is on. If the icon is solid, your device is
connected to another device.
Image of Bluetooth icon Bluetooth technology is on. If the icon is solid, Bluetooth
technology is connected.
Image of NFC icon NFC is on.

interacts with other devices. Take a look at the list of connections to learn about the different types of connections, some
tips for when to use each connection, and maybe learn a few things you didn't know you could do.
