How do I reset my device password if I forget it?
Your BlackBerry device password can't be recovered or changed if you don't enter your current password correctly. For
security reasons, the only way that you can reset your password without knowing your current password is to delete all of
your device data. You can do this by entering an incorrect device password multiple times.
BlackBerry recommends that you regularly create and save a backup file on your computer.
Display text when your device is locked
You can display text on the screen of your BlackBerry device when the device is locked. You can use this feature to display
a favorite quote, emergency contact information, or your own contact information so that if you lose your device, anyone
who finds it can contact you.
1. On the home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen.
2.
Tap Image Settings > Security and Privacy > Lock Screen.
3. In the Lock Screen Message fields, type the text.
To delete the text that appears on the screen when your device is locked, delete the text in the Lock Screen Message
fields.
Protect your SIM card with a PIN
You can use a SIM card PIN to prevent unauthorized use of your SIM card in another device. For example, if you lose your
SIM card and someone tries to use it in another device, the SIM card can't be used unless the PIN is entered correctly.
You can request the PIN for your SIM card from your service provider.
1. On the home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen.
2.
Tap Image Settings > Security and Privacy > SIM Card.
3. Turn on the SIM Card PIN Lock switch.
4. Type the SIM card PIN that your service provider gave you.
CAUTION
: If you exceed the number of allowed attempts to enter the SIM card PIN, your SIM card will stop functioning. To
unblock your SIM card, contact your service provider.
Change your SIM card PIN
1. On the home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen.
