Display text when your device is locked
You can display text on the screen of your BlackBerry device when the device is locked. For example,
you can display a favorite quote, emergency contact information, or your own contact information so
that if you lose your device, anyone who finds it can contact you.

On the home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen.

Security and Privacy
>
Lock Screen

In the
Lock Screen Message
fields, type the text.
To delete the text that appears on the screen when your device is locked, delete the text in the Lock
Screen Message
fields.
Protect your SIM card with a PIN
You can use a SIM card PIN to prevent unauthorized use of your SIM card in another device. For
example, if you lose your SIM card and someone tries to use it in another device, the SIM card can't be
used unless the PIN is entered correctly.
You can request the PIN for your SIM card from your service provider.
1.
On the home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen.
2.
Tap Settings > Security and Privacy > SIM Card.
3.
Turn on the SIM Card PIN Lock switch.
4.
Type the SIM card PIN that your service provider gave you.
CAUTION: If you exceed the number of allowed attempts to enter the SIM card PIN, your SIM card will
stop functioning. To unblock your SIM card, contact your service provider.
Change your SIM card PIN
1.
On the home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen.
2.
Tap Settings > Security and Privacy > SIM Card.
To change the PIN that protects your SIM card, tap Change PIN 1.
To change the PIN that controls access to calling features such as fixed dialing, tap Change PIN
