To turn off all typing assistance, change the Style field to Direct. If the Direct option doesn't appear, on the home
screen, click Options > Typing and Language > Keyboard. Change the Portrait Keyboard Type field to Full.
To set your smartphone to suggest word predictions as you type, change the Style field to Predictive.
To set your smartphone to type the first letter on a key when you press a key once and type the second letter on the
key when you press the key twice, change the
Style field to Multitap. If the Multitap option doesn't appear, on the
home screen, click Options > Typing and Language > Keyboard. Change the Portrait Keyboard Type field to Reduced.
To set your smartphone to suggest spelling corrections as you type, change the Style field to Corrective. If the
Corrective option doesn't appear, on the home screen, click Options > Typing and Language > Keyboard. Change the
Portrait Keyboard Type field to Full.
4.
Press the key > Save.

Type text using the predictive input method
When you are typing text, do any of the following:
To select the highlighted suggestion and start typing a new word, press the key on the keyboard.
To select the highlighted suggestion and continue typing, click the word.
To ignore the suggestions, keep typing.
Switch typing input methods when you're typing
To perform this task, you must be using your BlackBerry smartphone in portrait view with the touch screen keyboard.
You can switch between the full keyboard and the reduced keyboard, which you can use with either the SureType input
method or the multi-tap input method.
1. If necessary, while you're typing, press the key > Enable Reduced Keyboard.
2. Press the key > Enable <typing input method>.

To perform this task, you must be using your BlackBerry smartphone in portrait view with the touch screen keyboard while
using the reduced keyboard with the SureType input method turned on.
If you're using the SureType input method, even though most keys have more than one letter, you only have to press the letter
key for each letter in a word once. Your smartphone also displays a list of suggested words so that you don't have to type the
entire word.
1. Press the letter key once for each letter in a word.
2. Do any of the following:
To select a word from the list that appears when you type and start typing a new word, highlight the word. Press the
key on the keyboard.
