1.2 Muzzle thread
All Blaser moderator variants are available for standard,
semi weight and match barrels.
The following calibres are available:
2. Point of impact
Caution:
The point of impact of the firearm can change after
the moderator has been fitted. The firearm with
moderator must be re-zeroed before use,
as the point of impact generally varies once the
moderator has been screwed on.
If the firearm was zeroed with the moderator fitted,
it does not need to be re-zeroed after removing and
remounting the moderator.
3. Heat generation
Caution:
The moderator reaches very high temperatures after
long strings of firing. The temperature may not exceed
200 °C.
Caution:
Do not touch the moderator when it is hot under any
circumstances, as this poses the risk of injury from
burns.
Cooling off periods between longer series of shots
must be observed.
3.1 Moderator jackets
The moderator jackets must be removed before long
strings of shots to avoid heat accumulating.
3.2 Maximum number of shots
Caution:
To avoid overheating, the number of shots fired in
succession should be limited*.
* Factory loads only. Exceeding the above specifications can
cause overheating and destruction.
The maximum number of shots is equivalent to reaching the
maximum temperature of 200 °C.
4. Cleaning and care
4.1 Cleaning
Cleaning the moderator is not necessary under
normal hunting use.
If excessive dirt accumulates, the moderator should
be cleaned in an ultrasonic or detergent bath
(e.g. with washing-up liquid). After that, the
moderator needs to be dried thoroughly.
Caution:
Do not try to open the moderator, as this can seriously
damage it. Tampering with the moderator will render
the manufacturer warranty null and void.
4.2 Care
Condensation can form while shooting with the mod-
erator. The condensate combined with fouling residues
forms an aggressive liquid.
Caution:
Remove the moderator immediately after using the
firearm in order to prevent corrosion, particularly
in the barrel. This can develop due to condensation
leaking from the moderator if the firearm is stored
pointing towards the top of the gun rack with the
moderator mounted. Make sure that condensation that
has developed is able to evaporate from the moderator
before it is stored away.
Unscrew the moderator when storing the firearm
and store the moderator in a cool and dry place.
Apply a light film of oil to the thread of the barrel on
a regular basis.
Caution:
Excessive use of oil or maintenance products may
cause smoke and odour to be released during the shot.
Caution:
Fluids in the moderator must be removed before use;
this can cause the point of impact to shift.
