QuickOut This car radio is optionally available with or without the QuickOut release bracket. To switch the anti-theft protection on or off it is necessary that the set is connected to permanent 12 V supply.
Anti-theft coding This car radio is supplied with inactive code protection. In order to switch the anti-theft coding system on, proceed as described in the following. If the coding system is active while the power supply to the system is interrupted (e.g. theft, disconnection of the car battery), the set will be electronically blocked. In such a case it can only be made operable again by entering the correct code number given in the car radio passport.
When the car is stationary you may let an LED flash for extra security to indicate that your unit is equipped with security coding. This feature can be turned on and off using DSC. Read “DSC programming - CODE-LED”. The AF (Alternative Frequency) function makes sure that the strongest frequency of the currently selected programme is always tuned in automatically. This function is activated when “AF” appears in the display. In order to switch this function on or off, • press the AF button briefly.
Selecting a waveband With this car radio you can select between the following wavebands: FM 87.5 - 108 MHz MW 531 - 1602 kHz LW 153 - 279 kHz • Select the desired waveband by pressing the FMT or M•L button. To switch between MW and LW: • Press M•L. Automatic tuning / • Press / ; the car radio will automatically search for the next station. Receiving traffic programme stations with RDS-EON Many FM broadcasters offer traffic messages for their service area at regular intervals. All traffic programme stations transmit a special carrier signal alongside their programmes, which is decoded by your car radio. If this signal is identified, “TP” will appear in the display (Traffic Programme).
