Autonomous route guidance
Calculating the route
After you have entered the destination and activated route guidance by
pressing CONFIRM, the Navigation system will begin to compute the
quickest route to your destination with the help of the road map
information stored on the CD. This process can take up to 30 seconds.
During this time, an arrow will point in the direction of the destination,
CALC RTE will appear in the display and the voice output will say ”The
route is being calculated”. In addition to this, the direct distance to your
destination (as the crow flies) will appear on the screen.
If your vehicle is located on a non-digitalised street (public car park,
garage, parking garage), the message OFF ROAD will appear on the
right of the display. If your vehicle is located outside of the digitalised
network (in a foreign country, for example), the message OFF MAP will
appear on the right of the display. In this case, follow the arrow
appearing in the display. It is pointing in the direction of your
destination. Once you have returned with your vehicle to the digitalised
area, the route guidance function will take over, computing the route
and then providing you with spoken driving recommendations and
simple directional symbols in order to guide you to your destination.
Route list
After you have entered the destination and the route has been
computed, then you can press the down cursor button in order to
obtain a list of the streets to be travelled on the computed route.
