RDS System
This car radio is designed to receive RDS signals (RDS = Radio Data
System) in the FM band. RDS is a system which transmits additional
information in the FM band inaudibly. This means that the radio
stations transmit information which the car radio is able to evaluate.
AUTO-Best
The car radio is able to select the best of several different frequencies
currently available for the reception of a given radio station by using the
AUTO-Best function to automatically evaluate the signals received. If
radio reception becomes weaker, then the automatic evaluation is
repeated.
While the evaluation process is taking place, the radio may mute for a
short time. The BEST evaluation also functions automatically when the
radio is switched on or you switch to a different station by pressing one
of the station presets and during the CD mode of operation.
Switching the RDS mode on/off
Press to switch RDS on or off.
If the RDS mode has been activated, all RDS stations in your reception
area will appear with their station identification symbols in the display
and the AUTO-Best function will automatically determine the best
frequencies available.
