Traffic messages
A traffic message already in progress can be interrupted by pressing
the audio mute button, when the unit is in the CD mode. The radio will
then switch back to its previous operating mode. However, the next
traffic message will be played as usual.
If you do not want to hear any traffic messages during CD operation,
then you must press the audio mute button until the inverted TP symbol
disappears from the display.
In order to switch the traffic messages back on again, press the audio
mute button until the TP symbol appears in the display.
Emergency warning message (RDS service PTY 31)
During emergency situations, the radio station can use RDS data to
transmit an emergency warning message, provided that the traffic
program mode has been activated. ALARM will appear in the display. In
this case, all operating modes will be interrupted for the duration of the
message.
Telephone mute
If a telephone system is installed in the vehicle, the car radio will be
switched to audio mute when a telephone call comes through. While
the radio is switched to audio mute, it is not possible to operate in any
way, except to turn it off. PHONE will appear in the display for as long
as the audio mute is in effect.
