GETTING STARTED SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS What’s In The Box? • 1 x COLORStorm™ 252 • 2 x Mounting brackets w/bolts & washers • This Lovely User Manual Getting It Out Of The Box Congratulations on purchasing one of the brightest, best-built wash lights anywhere! Now that you’ve got your COLORStorm™ (or hopefully, COLORStorms!), you should carefully unpack the box and check the contents to ensure that all parts are present and in good condition.

Cable Connectors Cables must have a male XLR connector on one end and a female XLR connector on the other end. (Duh!) Fixture Linking (Master/Slave Mode) 1. Connect the (male) 3 pin connector side of the DMX cable to the output (female) 3 pin connector of the first fixture. 2. Connect the end of the cable coming from the first fixture which will have a (female) 3 pin connector to the input connector of the next fixture consisting of a (male) 3 pin connector.

4. OPERATING ADJUSTMENTS To set the unit in DMX Mode The Control Panel To control the COLORStorm 252 in DMX mode, first select from one of the three DMX control modes (3 Channel Mode 1, 3 Channel Mode 2, or 9 Chnanel Mode.) All the goodies and different modes possible with the COLORStorm™ 252 are accessed by using the control panel on the front of the fixture. There are 4 control buttons below the LED display which allow you to navigate through the various control panel menus.

APPENDIX Keeping Your COLORStorm™ As Good As New A Quick Lesson On DMX DMX (aka DMX-512) was created in 1986 by the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) as a standardized method for connecting lighting consoles to lighting dimmer modules. It was revised in 1990 and again in 2000 to allow more flexibility. The Entertainment Services and Technology Association (ESTA) has since assumed control over the DMX512 standard.
