WATER
Give your plants a good soaking about once per week, and more often when it’s hot.
Keep in mind that plants in containers dry out faster than in the ground. If leaves
are wilting or curling, more water is needed. Use a soaker hose or drip system to
make watering easier.
PRUNE
In spring, after the threat of frost is over, give your Weigela a trim. You’ll want to at
least trim off all the seed pods from last year’s owers. This will encourage healthy
and fresh new growth and owers. If you don’t like the overall form at this time, you
may shape it how you wish.
FERTILIZE
We recommend using an organic fertilizer in spring and summer. Follow the
instructions on the product label.
MULCH
Reduce watering and weeding by adding a 2-3 inch layer of organic bark mulch
around your plants. You can nd this at your local garden center.
