Tighten all bolt connections by hand first, then when the grill is fully assembled, go back and tighten.

Step 3 Attach lid handle (9) and lid hook (13) to lid (1) using largest bolt (A), heat resistant washer (K), small washer (G), lock washers (H), and nuts (I), as shown. Next, attach air damper (15) to lid as shown using air damper bolt (L-1), air damper lock washer (L-2), and air damper wing nut (L-3).

Pile 2-3 pounds of charcoal in the center of the charcoal grid, and shape into a pyramid. (See figure 1.) 3. If you are using regular charcoal and intend to use lighter fluid, apply fluid according to the instructions on the container. Allow lighter fluid to soak in for approximately 1 minute before carefully lighting.
