Installation of a Single Zone Outdoor Unit

Select a Location
Connect the Drain Joint (Optional)
Select the outdoor unit’s installation location based on the home’s struc-
ture, local codes, and convenience of installation. (See Page 8)
Ideally, these outdoor units are installed in a location that is well venti-
lated and dry, in which the outdoor unit will not be exposed directly to
sunlight and wind.
Reference the Indoor and Outdoor Installation Clearances page and com-
ply with these clearances.
Connect the outdoor drain joint into the
hole on the bottom of the outdoor unit’s
chassis.
Connect the drain hose to this drain joint
and direct the flow of condesation where-
ever desired.
While this step is optional, if it is not com-
pleted, the condensation from the unit will
simply drip out the bottom of the outdoor
unit.
