Burner will not ignite – no 
“clicking” sound 
No electrical power to the unit. 
Open Burner Models Only: 
Igniter not connected to lead wire. 
Igniter not connected to the correct lead wire 
Lead wire is worn on chipped. 
Lead wire is not connected to spark module. 
Plug into a three-prong electrical outlet that is 
properly grounded. 
Check and re-set circuit breaker for the unit. 
Open Burner Models Only: 
Connect igniter to orange lead wire. 
Connect igniter to the orange lead wire 
attached to the burner. 
Check for signs of wear or chips. 
Burner will not ignite – 
“clicking” sound, but no spark 
Gas not turned on 
Open Burner Models Only: 
Clogged burner ports 
Venturi tube not aligned with the orifice 
Lead wire is in the drip tray 
Turn on gas supply. 
Open Burner Models Only: 
Use a push pin to clear ports. 
Position venturi tube over orifice. 
Attach lead wire to igniter. 
Burner will not ignite – 
“clicking” sound with spark 
Gas not turned on 
Burner head OR cap not in correct location 
Open Burner Models Only: 
Air shutter needs adjustment. 
Faulty igniter (dirty or cracked) 
Turn on gas supply. 
Identify burners and move them to the correct 
location. 
Open Burner Models Only: 
See Top Burner Low Flame Adjustment 
instructions. 
Burner ignites – “clicking” 
sound does not stop 
Burners are wet 
Burner setting too low 
Air draft flowing over cooktop 
Open Burner Models Only: 
Electrode wires not properly connected 
Electric plug not in grounded outlet. 
Let burners dry and try again. 
Turn off, re-ignite and change setting. 
Eliminate draft source. 
Check outlet polarity. 
Plug unit into a three-prong electrical outlet 
that is properly grounded. 
Open Burner Models Only: 
Connect electrode wires. 
Burner doesn’t fully ignite 
Partial gas supply 
Burner or burner cap not properly positioned 
Clogged burner ports 
Open Burner Models Only: 
Burner head not in correct location 
Low flame setting needs adjustment 
Use a push pin to clear ports. 
Make sure gas supply is fully on. 
Check that burner or cap is in the proper 
location. 
Open Burner Models Only: 
See Top Burner Air Shutter Adjustment 
instructions. 
Identify burners and move them to the correct 
location. 
Burner ignition delay – 
“clicking” sound  then ignition 
whoosh
