Opening and closing Opening and closing Remote control New remote controls Your BMW center can supply new remote controls with integrated keys as additional units or as replacements in the event of loss. Personal Profile The concept Each remote control contains a rechargeable battery that is automatically recharged when it is in the ignition lock while the car is being driven. Use each remote control at least twice a year for longer road trips in order to maintain the batteries' charge status.
For further details of the alarm system, refer to page 25. > 12h/24h format of the clock, refer to page 67 Operating from inside > Date format, refer to page 67 By means of the button for central locking, refer to page 23. > Units of measure, refer to page 67 > Light settings: > Pathway lighting, refer to page 83 > Daytime running lights, refer to page 84 In the event of a sufficiently severe accident, the central locking system unlocks automatically.
Opening and closing bol appears in the display accompanied by the word "SET". Convertible: Convenient opening* When you are close to the vehicle, the remote control for Comfort Access can be used to open the retractable hardtop. Hold the button down. The windows and the retractable hardtop are opened if the doors are closed. If you continue pressing the dows move up. 3. Press button 2. 4. Things to remember when driving Things to remember when driving Break-in period Moving parts need breaking-in time to adjust to each other. Please follow the instructions below in order to achieve the optimal service life and economy of operation for your vehicle. Engine and differential Always obey all official speed limits. Up to 1,200 miles/2,000 km Drive at varying engine and road speeds, but do not exceed an engine speed of 4,500 rpm or a road speed of 100 mph/160 km/h.
Have the vehicle serviced Avoid unnecessary acceleration and braking maneuvers. To do so, keep an adequate distance between you and the vehicle in front of you. A defensive and smooth driving style keeps fuel consumption down. Have the vehicle serviced regularly to achieve good economy and a long vehicle life. BMW recommends having the vehicle serviced at a BMW center. Also note the BMW service system, refer to page 136.
Things to remember when driving The risk of hydroplaning increases with declining tread depth on the tires, refer also to Minimum tread depth on page 129. Driving through water Drive through water on the road only if it is not deeper than 1 ft/30 cm, and then only at walking speed at the most. Otherwise, the vehicle's engine, the electrical systems and the transmission may be damaged.
At a glance Determining loading limit 1. Locate the following statement on your vehicle's placard*: The combined weight of occupants and cargo should never exceed XXX kg or YYY lbs. Otherwise, overloading can result in damage to the vehicle and unstable driving conditions.< The permissible load is the total of the weight of occupants and cargo/luggage. The greater the weight of the occupants, the less cargo/luggage can be transported.
Things to remember when driving Convertible Convertible: before opening the hardtop, fold down the cargo area partition. Make sure the cargo area is loaded correctly; otherwise parts of the hardtop can be damaged, refer to page 102.< Securing cargo Coupe Always position and secure the cargo as described above, so that it cannot endanger the car's occupants, for example if sudden braking or swerving is necessary.
