8.1 Necessary technical knowledge for repairs
8.2 Replacement of fuses
Disconnect the device from the mains.
FIDOR contains several fuses.
If the POWER LED does not light despite connected supply voltage and switched on
mains switch:
Check the fuses in the power plug (
p. 64, §8.2.1).
If the nominal temperature of the detector is not reached and the ambient temperature
is displayed, this could be caused by the tripping of the internal temperature monitor or
a defective heating. Contact SICK Customer Service
8.2.1 Mains fuse
The mains fuse is in the equipment switch (rear of device).

Blinking measuring display and yellow LED
When the measuring display and the yellow LED are blinking:
Status “Maintenance request”, “Failure” or “Uncertain operating state” is active:
1 Press “Menu”.
2 Go to the “FIDOR” menu.
3 Select the “Diagnostic” menu.
4 Select the “Operating mode” menu.
5 Check the error cause.
WARNING: Risk of explosions
Only technicians with special FIDOR training are allowed to perform mainte-
nance tasks on the FIDOR.
Use original SICK spare parts only.

Only let the work described in the following be carried out by skilled electri-
cians who are familiar with potential risks and are able to avoid them.
