FULL-RANGE VERSATILE-MOUNT OUTDOOR LOUDSPEAKER
The NEAR VM1 Outdoor Full-Range Loudspeaker has been
purpose-built to reliably deliver exceptional sound quality
while enduring virtually any weather conditions. A mix of
elegance and function, the VM1 utilizes many of NEAR’s
signature features and benefits, such as Metal Diaphragm
Technology (MDT) woofers for consistent performance in
any environment, Magnetic Liquid Suspension Technology
(MLS) for near-perfect voice coil alignment and protection
against corrosion, as well as titanium-alloy tweeters that
deliver superior sound quality and durability.
The VM1 employs a Versatile-Mount (VM) ball-and-socket
mounting system combined with a pre-terminated, totally
waterproof, input connector. This mounting system
minimizes installation effort and reduces “ladder time”
to improve installation efficiency and safety. The VM1
is available in both white and black and can be painted to
match the surroundings. The color-matched grille is oxidation-
resistant, heavy-gauge, powder-coated aluminum with
rectangular perforations that inhibit water from clogging the
holes and blocking high frequencies. A special hydrophobic
fabric that permits sound waves to pass through unimpeded
but blocks moisture, debris and wildlife covers the bass port.
Other NEAR hallmark technologies found in the VM1 include:
proprietary rubber compound cone surrounds designed
to withstand the rigors of all environments including UV,
chlorine, fertilizer, and other chemicals; a plug-in connector
that assures absolute weather tightness and maintains
correct polarity every time, as well as a ribbed enclosure
designed to break-up panel resonances for clearer, more
detailed midrange sound.
