Current vs. Staged Modes
The C/S button on the program panel allows the user to toggle between what we call
Current Mode and Staged Mode. The staged feature allows the user to be able to
program and setup the majority of the next job while the machine is running.
Current Mode refers to the current program that you are running on the machine. Staged
Mode refers to a program that you are setting up to be run after the current job is finished.
When you press this button the machine toggles between these modes. You can tell you
are in staged mode when the softkeys are highlighted in white versus gray.
When switching between Current and Staged Modes on the ProtoTRAK PMX, the Tool
Management pages basically retain the same functions. There are a couple of points
worth mentioning though:
The Part Program Tool Table will only list what is in corresponding memory. Staged
Mode will display the tools from staged programs, and Current Mode will display the
tools from current programs.
The ATC table in staged mode can be updated to reflect changes in current by pressing
the REFRESH TABLE button. Please note that when you press this button you will lose
any changes you made to the staged tool management table. The table in Current and
