6.5.2.2. Checking the Electrolyte Level
• The gases emitted by the battery are explosive! Keep sparks and open
flames away from the battery!
• Do not allow battery acid to come in contact with skin or clothing!
• Wear protective goggles!
• Do not rest tools on the battery!
Please follow the steps below to check the electrolyte level in the battery.
For batteries with testers:
1. Remove the sealing caps (1)
2. Check to see if the electrolyte level reaches the bottom surface of the tester (2)
3. If necessary top off the battery with distilled water
4. Put the tester back into place
5. Screw the sealing caps back into place
