The belt clip should be removed to ease installation or removal. To install the batteries: 1. With the back of the radio facing you, remove the Battery Cover by sliding it down from the unit. 2. Insert 4 AAA batteries observing the polarity as shown, or install the optional battery.

Cannot Receive - Make sure that you are with in range of the other transceivers. Messages - Buildings and other obstructions may interfere with your communication.
