Spell Checker
Tick the checkbox to enable spell check while entering words.
Personal Dictionary
Touch > > Settings > Language & input > Personal dictionary to add new words
to the device’s dictionary or remove words from the dictionary. The words you add are used for
spelling check and word suggestion.
Keyboard & Input Methods
Configure text input settings.
● Touch Default to set the default input method.
● Tick the check box before each input method to enable it for use or disable it. The pre-
installed input methods include Swype, TouchPal, Android keyboard, and Google voice
typing (integrated into the Android keyboard). See Touchscreen Keyboards. You can
also download and install other input methods.
● Touch behind each input method to configure its settings.
Speech
Set up voice search and text-to-speech output options.
Voice Search
● Language: Select the language you use when entering text by speaking or searching by
speaking.
● Speech output: Choose the speech output mode from Always or Hands-free only.
● Block offensive words: Replace offensive words with asterisks (*) when you use
Google voice recognition to transcribe your voice into text.
● Hotword detection: Say Google to launch voice search.
● Download offline speech recognition: Enables voice input while offline.
Text-to-speech output:
 PREFERRED ENGINE: Select the speech synthesis engine you want to use or
touch to change its settings.
 Speech rate: Select how quick you want the synthesizer to speak.
 Listen to an example: Play a brief sample of the speech synthesizer, using your
current settings.
