Operation
Starting Operation
Inserting the battery
Use only original Bosch lithium ion batteries with the
voltage listed on the nameplate of your power tool. Us-
ing other batteries can lead to injuries and pose a fire haz-
ard.
Switching On and Off
To start the machine, push the On/Off switch 2 towards the
front to “I”.
To switch off the machine, push the On/Off switch 2 towards
the rear to “0”.
Battery Charge-control Indicator/Overload Indicator
The battery charge-control indicator/overload indicator 1 in-
dicates the charge condition of the battery and overload con-
ditions when the machine is switched on.
During operation with increased load, the battery charge-con-
trol indicator/overload indicator 1 flashes green. This indi-
cates a higher operation level.
When using the machine as intended for, it cannot be subject
to overload. In case of excessive loading, the battery charge-
control indicator/overload indicator 1 flashes red for a dura-
tion of up to approx. 2 seconds. In case of prolonged over-
loading, the motor gradually stops within one second and the
battery charge-control indicator/overload indictor 1 flashes
red for approx. 5 seconds.
When exceeding the allowable battery temperature of 70 °C,
the electronics immediately switch the machine off until it is
in the optimal operating-temperature range again. The bat-
tery charge-control indicator/overload indicator 1 flashes
red for approx. 5 seconds.
Note: If the machine should automatically switch off because
of a discharged or overheated battery, make sure to set the
machine’s On/Off switch 2 to off. Charge the battery and al-
low it to cool down before restarting the machine. Otherwise
the battery can become damaged.
Protection Against Deep Discharging
The lithium-ion battery is protected against deep discharging
by the “Electronic Cell Protection (ECP)”. When the battery is
empty, the machine is switched off by means of a protective
circuit: The inserted tool no longer rotates and the battery
charge-control indicator/overload indicator 1 flashes red for
approx. 5 seconds.
Working Advice
Wait until the machine has come to a standstill before
placing it down.
The removal capacity during sanding is mainly determined by
the selection of the sanding sheet.
Only flawless sanding sheets achieve good sanding capacity
and extend the service life of the machine.
Pay attention to apply uniform sanding pressure; this increas-
es the working life of the sanding sheets.
For precise on-the-spot sanding of edges, corners and hard to
reach areas, it is also possible to work only with the tip or an
edge of the sanding plate.
A sanding sheet that has been used for metal should not be
used for other materials.
Use only original Bosch sanding accessories.
Maintenance and Service
Maintenance and Cleaning
Before any work on the machine itself (e. g. mainte-
nance, tool change, etc.) as well as during transport
and storage, remove the battery from the power tool.
There is danger of injury when unintentionally actuating
the On/Off switch.
For safe and proper working, always keep the machine
and ventilation slots clean.
When the battery is no longer operative, please refer to an au-
thorised after-sales service agent for Bosch power tools.
If the machine should fail despite the care taken in manufac-
turing and testing procedures, repair should be carried out by
an after-sales service centre for Bosch power tools.
In all correspondence and spare parts order, please always in-
clude the 10-digit article number given on the type plate of
the machine.
