theruseofthetool,aguardorotherpartthatis
damagedshouldbecarefullycheckedtodeter-
minethatitwilloperateproperlyandperform
itsintendedfunction.Checkforalignmentof
movingparts,bindingofmovingparts,break-
ageofparts,mounting,andanyothercondi-
tionsthatmayaffectitsoperation.Aguardor
otherpartthatisdamagedshouldbepromptly
andproperlyrepairedorreplaced.Havedefec-
tiveswitchesreplaced.Donotusetoolifswitch
doesnotturnitonoroff.
• ALLREPAIRS,ELECTRICALORME-
CHANICAL,shouldbeattemptedonlyby
trainedrepairmen.ContactthenearestBosch
FactoryServiceCenter,orBoschAuthorized
ServiceCenterorothercompetentrepaircen-
ter.UseonlyBoschreplacementparts,any
othermaycreateahazard.
• If routerbitisprotrudingthroughthebase,
neverlaytherouterdownunti!themotorhas
cometoacompletestandstill.
• Neverholdtheworkpieceinonehandand
therouterinotherwheninuse.Alwaysclamp
thematerialandholdtheroutersecurelywith
bothhands.
• Neverusebitsthathaveacuttingdiameter
greaterthantheopeninginthebase.
• Afterchangingthebitsormakinganyadjust-
ments,makesurethecolletnutandanyother
adjustmentdevicesaresecurelytightenedbe-
foreusingtherouter.
• Thedirectionoffeedingtherouterintothe
materialisveryimportantanditrelatestothe
directionofbitrotation.Whenviewingthe
routerfromthetop,thebitrotatesclockwise.
Whentherouterislocatedbetweenyourbody
andthematerial,thefeeddirectionmustbeto
theright,lfthematerialislocatedbetweenyour
bodyandtherouter,thenthefeeddirection
mustbetotheleft.Feedingtherouterinthe
wrongdirectioncausesthecuttingedgeofthe
bittoclimboutoftheworkandpulltherouter
inthedirectionof thisfeed.

thematerialcausingtheroutertogetoutof
control.Alwaysholdtherouterwithtwohands
duringstart-up.Thereactiontorqueofthe
motorcancausetheroutertotwist.
• Alwaysmakesuretheworkpieceisfreefrom
nailsandotherforeignobjectswhichcancause
thebitandroutertojumpanddamagethebit.
• Alwayswearsafetygoggles.Ifrouterhasa
removablechipdeflector,keepitinplacewhen
routing.
• Nevertouchtherouterbitorothermoving
partduringuse.Afterusetherouterbitistoo
hottobetouchedbybarehands.

POLARIZEDPLUGS:Ifyourtoolisequipped
withapolarizedplug(onebladeiswiderthan
theother),thisplugwillfitinapolarizedoutlet
onlyoneway.Iftheplugdoesnotfitfullyinthe
outlet,reversetheplug.Ifit stilldoesnotfit,
contactaqualifiedelectricianto installthe
properoutlet.Toreducetheriskof electric
shockdonotchangethepluginanyway.
