Troubleshooting
Problem Cause Corrective Action
Saw will not start Power cord is not plugged in. Plug saw in.
Fuse or circuit breaker tripped. Replace fuse or reset tripped circuit
breaker.
Cord damaged. Have cord replaced by an Authorized
Bosch Service Center or Service Sta-
tion.
Burned out switch. Have switch replaced by an Authorized
Bosch Service Center or Service Sta-
tion.
Blade does not come
up to speed
Extension cord too light or too
long.
Replace with adequate cord.
Low house voltage. Contact your electric company.
Excessive vibration Failure to tighten tilt lock han-
dle.

Blade out of balance. Discard Blade and use different blade.
Saw not mounted securely to
stand or workbench.
Tighten all mounting hardware, See

Cannot make square cut
when crosscutting
Miter Gauge not adjusted prop-
erly.

Cut binds, burns, stalls
motor when ripping
Dull blade with improper tooth
set.
Sharpen or replace blade.
Warped board. Make sure concave or hollow side is
facing “DOWN” feed slowly.
Rip fence not parallel to blade. See “Adjustments” section “Aligning
Rip Fence” (Page 25).
Spreader out of alignment. See “Assembly” section, “Attaching the
Smart Guard System” (Page 18).
Cut not true at 90° or
45° positions
Alignment screws not adjusted
properly.
