– A central station or residential monitoring station complying with the Standard for
Central-Station Alarm Services, UL 827.
An inside sounding device shall be mounted at least 10 feet (3.05 m) above the floor or at the
surface of the ceiling. When there is a fixed construction within the area that could provide
access for an intruder, the alarm sounding device shall also be mounted at least 4 ft (1.2 m) as
measured horizontally, away from the edges of the fixed construction or at least 10 ft (3.05 m)
above it so as to minimize access by an intruder.
