7.2 STOP Switch
The STOP switch is dual circuit wired and the contacts are realized as opening
contacts.
The following applies for the version with the red-yellow EMERGENCY STOP
switch: The red-yellow EMERGENCY STOP switch on the IndraControl
VCH 08.1 complies with the requirements of EN 418. Its mode of operation must
be determined as a stop of category 0 or of category 1 on the basis of the risk
evaluation for the machine (see EN 60204-1 chapter 9.2.5.4.2). The wiring of
the spring loaded switching contacts must comply with the safety category (ac‐
cording to EN 954-1) that is determined on the basis of the risk analysis
(according to EN 1050) of the machine.
In practical terms, the gray STOP switch has the same functionality as the red-
yellow EMERGENCY STOP switch. It complies with all of the mechanical
aspects of EN 418 and merely differs in color. However, by means of its color‐
