LEDs
The VIP X1600 network video server is equipped with a number of LEDs that
show the operating status and can give indications of possible malfunctions.
RJ45 sockets 10/100/1000 Base-T
Green LED lit up: Network connection exists.
Orange LED flashes: Data transmission via the network.
Module 1 / Module 2 / Module 3 / Module 4
LED off Slot not occupied.
LED lit green VIP X1600 module is switched on.
LED flashes green VIP X1600 module is being accessed.
LED lit red (briefly) Startup in progress.
LED lit red (continuously) Defect in VIP X1600 module,
firmware upload failed.
Power / Fail
LED off VIP X1600 is switched off.
LED lit green VIP X1600 is switched on.
LED flashes red Defect in fans or redundant power supply unit.
Serial interface
Options for using the serial interface include transferring transparent data, con-
trolling connected units or operating the unit with a terminal program.
The serial interface supports the RS232, RS422 and RS485 transmission stan-
dards. The standard used depends on the current configuration (see page 80).
Connection is via the terminal connector. See 118 for the pin assignment.
