Intended use Beofr Ø For use in the household only. Ø The washing machine is suitable for washing machine- washable textiles and hand-washable wool in wash liquor. Ø The washing machine is suitable to be operated with cold drinking water and commercially available detergents and care products which are suitable for use in washing machines. Ø When dosing all detergents, cleaning aids, cleaning products and cleaning agents, always follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Check whether the drum has been completely emptied. If required, empty. Otherwise, the load display may malfunction. ~ Page 32 3. Press the # button. The appliance is switched on. The Bosch logo is indicated on the display panel and all programme indicator lamps are lit. Then always the Cottons programme preset at the factory is displayed.

Washing During the wash cycle the programme progress is indicated by a bar on the display panel. The bar progresses in the course of the wash cycle and provides information about the current programme progress. The arrows are switched on and off according to the programme progress. They indicate the programme settings/options which can be changed/added as the programme progresses.
Ø Topping up washing When the programme has started, washing can be reloaded or taken out as required. Select A Start/Pause. × 60°C Pause: Ö ² ˜ × 14000 Reload is possible 2:45h Ö – If there is a high water level, high temperature or if the drum is rotating, the washing machine door remains locked for reasons of safety and reload is not possible. Follow the information on the display panel. To continue the programme, select the A Start/Pause button.
Ø End of programme by Rinse Hold Rinse hold reached: Select "spin" or "drain" and then "start". Spin Drain Ö Ö 1. Select Spin (If required, adjust the spin speed) or Drain. 2. Select A Start/Pause. End of the programme Finished, remove washing is indicated on the display panel.
After washing 1. Open washing machine door and remove washing.. ¼ # ² Remove the washing. Switch off the device. – Do not leave any items of washing in the drum. In the next wash they may shrink or discolour something else. – Remove any foreign objects from the drum and the rubber seal – risk of rust. – Leave detergent drawer and door open so that residual water can evaporate. Before switching the machine off: ² – Always remove the washing. Otherwise, the load display may malfunction.

Memory 1 and 2 The programme and all settings are permanently stored under Memory 1 and Memory 2. Saving: 1. Select Memory 1 or 2 programme. 2. If a programme has not yet been selected for this memory programme, select programme according to the instructions on the display panel. The selection of the programme is automatically acknowledged by a tick. 3. If required, change temperature, spin speed and Finished in time in the main menu and/or select programme options.
Programme settings/options Depending on the programme, you can use the programme options to adjust the washing process even more efficiently to your items of washing. ² – Are active without acknowledgement. – Not retained after appliance is switched off. – Can be selected or deselected or changed depending on the programme progress. Automatic stain treatment General information about stains A total of 16 different stains can be selected. The washing machine adjusts the washing temperature, drum movement and soaking time specific to the type of stain. Hot or cold water, gentle or intensive washing control and long or short soaking provide the wash programme with a special sequence for each type of stain. The result: stains are treated optimally.

Appliance settings By pressing the Basic settings 3 sec. buttons, appliance settings can be changed, e.g. button signal. Simultaneously hold down Basic settings 3 sec. buttons for approx. 3 seconds: language end signal button signal Ö × off Â Ö × Ø If the buttons are held down, the settings automatically run through. Ø Select Setting with the two left buttons. Ø Select displayed value with the two right buttons (selection acknowledged by a tick). Ø Wait or hold down Basic settings 3 sec.
Sensors – Your washing machine is so intelligent Load adjust Depending on the type of textile and load, the load adjust optimally adjusts the water consumption in each programme. Aqua-Sensor depending on model During the rinse cycle the Aqua sensor checks the degree of turbidity (turbidity is caused by dirt and detergent residue) of the rinsing water. The duration and the number of rinse cycles depend on the turbidity of the water.

Cleaning the detergent drawer If it contains detergent or fabric softener residue: 1. Pull out, depress insert, take out drawer all the way. 2. Take out insert: using your finger, press insert upwards. 3. Clean detergent dispenser and insert with water and a brush and dry. 4. Attach insert and lock into position (push cylinder onto guide pin). 5. Insert detergent drawer. ² Leave detergent drawer open so that residual water can evaporate.
4. Take the drainage hose out of the holder. Remove the sealing cap, drain water into a suitable receptacle. Press on sealing cap and insert drainage hose into the holder. Note: Residual water may run out. 5. Carefully unscrew the pump cover. Clean the interior, pump cover thread and pump housing (fan impeller in the detergent-solution pump must rotate). 6. Reinsert and screw on pump cover. Handle should be vertical. 7. Insert service flap (1), engage (2) and close (3).
Drainage hose on the siphon blocked 1. Switch off the appliance. Pull out the mains plug! Note: Residual water may run out! 2. Loosen hose clip, carefully remove drainage hose. 3. Clean drainage hose and siphon spigot. 4. Re-attach drainage hose and secure connection point with hose clip. Filter blocked in water inlet hose First, release water pressure in the supply hose: 1. Turn off the tap! 2. Select any programme (except Spin/Drain). 3. Select Start/Pause A. Leave programme for approx. 40 seconds. 4.
Emergency release The programme continues running when the power supply is restored. If the washing is still to be removed, the door can be opened as described below: m Warning! Danger of scalding! Wash liquor and washing may be hot. If touched, there is a risk of scalding. If required, leave to cool down. m Caution! Danger when reaching into/gripping the rotating drum! If you reach into the rotating drum, you may injure your hands. Do not grip the rotating drum. Wait until the drum stops rotating.
Information on the display panel Display Cause/Remedy The door cannot be locked, please open the door again, then close it and select "start/pause". – Washing may be caught. Please open and close washing machine door again and select Start/Pause A. – If required, shut washing machine door or remove washing and shut again. – If required, switch appliance off and on again; set programme and make individual settings; start programme. Please open tap – Turn on tap fully. – Supply hose kinked/jammed.

Donot lift the washing machine by its projecting parts. m Caution! Risk of stumbling! If the hoses and power cord are installed improperly, there is a risk of tripping and injury.

Lay hoses and cables in such a way that there is no risk of stumbling.
Installing the appliance on a base or on a wooden joist ceiling m Warning! Washing machine may be damaged!! The washing machine may wander during the spin cycle and topple/fall off the base. Always secure the washing machine feet with fixing brackets. Holding brackets: order no. WMZ 2200, WX 9756, CZ 110600, Z 7080X0 ² If installing on a wooden joist ceiling: – If possible, install the washing machine in a corner. – Screw a water-resistant wooden panel (min. 30 mm thick) to the floor.
Remove transportation protection devices m Caution! Washing machine may be damaged! Transit bolts which have not been removed may damage e.g. the drum while the washing machine is running. Before using the appliance for the first time, remove the 4 transportation protection devices completely and keep in a safe place. m Caution! Washing machine may be damaged! To prevent damage in transit when transporting the washing machine subsequently, always re-install the transit bolts prior to transportation.
3. Loosen and remove all 4 transportation lock screws. 4. Take the power cord out of the holders. Remove sleeves. 5. Insert covers. ² 48 Lock covers firmly by pressing on the locking hook.
Connecting the water m Warning! Danger of death from electric shock! Danger of death if live parts are touched. Do not immerse Aqua-Stop safety device in water (contains an electric valve). ² – To prevent leakage or water damage, follow the instructions in this chapter! – Operate the washing machine with cold drinking water only. – Do not connect to the mixer tap of an unpressurised hotwater apparatus.

Drainage into a siphon m Warning! Water damage possible! If the drainage hose slips off the siphon connection due to high water pressure when draining the washing machine, leaking water may cause damage. Connection point must be secured with hose clip, Ø 24–40 mm (specialist outlet).
Alignment 1. Loosen lock nut in a clockwise direction with a wrench. 2. Check alignment of the washing machine with a spirit level and, if required, correct. Adjust the height by rotating the foot. 52 ² All four feet must be firmly on the floor. The washing machine must not wobble! 3. Tighten the lock nut against the housing. Grip the foot and do not adjust the height.
Electrical connection Electrical safety m Warning! Danger of death from electric shock! Danger of death if live parts are touched. – Never pull out the mains plug by tugging the power cord. – Insert/pull out the mains plug with dry hands only. – Never pull out the mains plug during operation. – Connect the washing machine to an alternating current via a correctly installed earthed socket only. – The mains voltage and voltage specifications on the washing machine (appliance rating plate) must match.
Before the 1st washing The washing machine was inspected thoroughly before leaving the factory. To remove any water left over from testing procedures, the first washing cycle should be carried out without laundry in the machine. ² The washing machine must have been installed and connected properly. See chapter Installing ~ Page 52 1. Check the machine. ² Never switch on a damaged machine. Inform your customer service. ~ Page 41 2. Remove protective film from the fascia. 3. Insert mains plug. 4.
Transportation, e.g. if moving house Preparatory work 1. Turn off the tap. 2. Release the water pressure in the supply hose. Maintenance – Filter in the water inlet hose ~ Page 36 3. Installing transportation protection devices 1. Remove covers and keep in a safe place. If required, use a screwdriver. 2. Insert all 4 sleeves.
